OMG Magic Insert

Step 1

Fill the top and bottom pans with cake batter. You can use box mix or from scratch.

Step 2

Snap the Magic Insert to the bottom pan. This will create an indentation which you can later fill with your surprise sweets.

Step 3

Bake the top pan for about 45-50 min and the bottom for about 50-55 min. Test with a toothpick until it comes out clean

Step 4

Once cool, fill the bottom half with your favorite dessert. Place the top half on. Now you are ready to decorate it. Enjoy!

  • How big is this compared to a standard cake?

    It is HUGE! A standard cupcake is about 2 to 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall with no frosting. 


    The giant cupcake is 5 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall. It is as dense as a cake and takes up to two boxes of mix to create.


    One important thing to remember: technically if you eat the entire giant cupcake, you still only ate one cupcake.😜 Wink Wink

  • How does the filling part work?

    This is our favorite feature of this gift set. To use the middle piece, simply fill the bottom pan to the full line. Then snap on the middle piece. Now bake according to the cake batter's instructions. By baking it with the middle piece snapped on, the bottom part of the giant cupcake will have a concaved indentation in it. Now you can fill this dent with frosting, candy, jam, you name it. Place the cooked top of the giant cupcake on top and voila - you now have a delicious surprise inside.

  • How do i combine the top half to the bottom half?

    It is a piece of cake as easy as 1, 2, 3

      

    1) After removing the cooled cakes from pans to cooling rack - use a serrated knife to cut each half so they are flat

    2) spread a dollop of frosting on both halves

    3) place the top half on top of the bottom half.

    Vola!


    Now you can frost the the entire cake however you like.

  • What type of batter do I have to use?

    To make things easier, we recommend traditional store bought boxes of cake mix. Just add butter or oil, egg and water. Super easy. 


    It takes about two boxes. There will be some left over batter which is perfect for a dozen cupcakes.  


    We have even experimented with gluten free batters and they came out great. Just need to fill a little higher b/c they don't rise as much.


    However, feel free to make your own mix from scratch if you like. Just make sure to prepare enough batter for two 8 inch cakes.


    ;) Life is what you make it! So bake it sweet.

  • How long does it take to bake?

    It all depends on your oven. The top of the cupcake bakes faster and takes about 40-50 minutes. 

    The bottom half can take up to 45-60 min. 


    The benefit of having two separate pans is you can bake separately to ensure they bake evenly. 


    It is important to test after 30 minutes by placing a knife or chopstick into the center. And repeat after every 5 minutes until the knife comes out clean.

  • Is this dishwasher safe?

    Yes. Unless you have alien ninja cake eating zombies in your dishwasher. 

  • How long does it take to ship?

  • Size??? Bottom /top/ height???

    It's YUGE!!!! Lol! 😂 


    The bottom is 5.25 inches wide. Middle is 7.25 inches wide and the top comes to roughly a 1inch point. The total height is 8 inches. These dimensions are for the cooked cake. 

    The silicone is slightly bigger.
